The Numbers at a Glance

  • 30-Day Free Trial: Does not require a credit card and includes at most 20 concurrent open previews. During the trial, both the hourly runtime fee and the flat stack fees are waived ($0).
  • Active Preview Runtime ($0.20 / hour): After the trial, an open preview accrues $0.20 per hour (20 cents) until you run the remove workflow.
  • Opening a Stack Life ($20): Starting a brand-new stage life after the trial is a one-time $20 flat fee.
  • Auto-Synthesized Blueprint (+$10): When NeoSpaxe auto-detects your repo and generates the deployment blueprint on the fly because your repository does not include one, that stack life is $10 more.

Real-World Cost Examples (10-Hour PR Review)

Suppose your team opens a feature branch preview at 9:00 AM, reviews and tests it all day, merges the PR at 7:00 PM (10 hours later), and runs the remove workflow:

(A 10-hour preview with an existing stack config is $22. The same preview, when NeoSpaxe auto-synthesized the blueprint, is $32.)

Deep Dive: How a “Stack Life” Works

If you’re used to platforms billing you by mysterious “build minutes” or per-developer seats, “stack life” might be a new term. Here is exactly how the ledger works in your favor:

1. Pushing 20 Commits to an Open Stage Still Costs One Stack Life

A stack life begins when you deploy a stage name (say, pr-108) that is not currently open, and ends when you run remove for pr-108.

  • While pr-108 is open, you can run deploy on pr-108 as many times as you want as you push new commits.
  • Redeploying to an already-open stage updates the existing stack life in place—it does not trigger another $20 stack fee or $10 blueprint fee.
  • Once you run remove on pr-108, that stack life is closed. If you deploy pr-108 again next week, that starts a fresh stack life.

2. Failed Deploys Aren’t Charged Flat Fees

If your code has a build error or the deployment fails and exits cleanly before completion, the attempt is cleared from the ledger. You are not charged the $20 stack life fee or $10 blueprint fee for a failed deploy.

3. What Happens When the 30-Day Trial Ends?

  • Any stack opened during your 30-day free trial had its $20 and $10 flat fees permanently waived—it never receives a retroactive $20 or $10 charge when the trial ends.
  • Once your trial ends and a payment card is on file, any stack that is still open simply begins accruing the $0.20/hour runtime fee from that moment forward until you run remove.
How We Keep You From Forgetting an Open Stack

Nobody likes surprise cloud bills because someone forgot to close a PR before a long weekend. NeoSpaxe automatically emails the billing address on file when a preview stage has stayed open for 24 hours and again at 72 hours, so you can run remove whenever you are done with it.
